Operation Santa
The Shreveport police and fire departments along with the Bossier Parish sheriff's office are kicking off Operation Santa Claus.
This is the 23rd year for Operation Santa Claus, which teams up with Gap Broadcasting to help fill Christmas wish lists for children in Shreveport-Bossier.
Police, sheriff's deputies and firefighters in Shreveport and Bossier Parish submit names of children who meet the requirements of Operation Santa Claus.
Once toys are donated, the public safety employees who nominated the children for the program then get to play Santa, delivering the wrapped goodies in time for Christmas. If you would like to participate, e-mail kacee.hargrave@ci.shreveport.la.us or call Operation Santa Claus directly at 687-GIFT (after Dec. 1).
